We signed up to the UK Plastics Pact, implemented by WRAP UK, are on target to make all our packaging fully recyclable by 2025. As part of our mission, we’re also looking to reduce our environmental impact. We have also recently increased our support for the Sumatran Orangutan Society, which will help to protect an important ecosystem. This includes growing the breadth of our organic offering and innovating in alternative plant-based ingredients that are more nutritionally dense and protect biodiversity. We launched our Food for Biodiversity mission earlier last year with a number of commitments. Those positioned as natural but with functional health benefits such offering a source of protein and fibre, will enjoy success.Ĭan you give us an example of what your business is doing to become even more sustainable?Īt Ecotone we are proud to be certified B Corp across all of our entities in Europe so we have a great foundation to build on. I expect the trend for plant based will continue to grow, but possibly more scrutiny will be placed on the ingredients, processes, and artificial additives. We expect to see shoppers continue to reduce their consumption of plastic and manufacturers will prioritise sourcing innovative solutions. The climate crisis will also continue to be a big concern for consumers, alongside plastic pollution.

Sustainability will continue to be a hot topic and I would expect the organic market will continue to thrive on this as a result. I would see demand for natural & organic continue into this year with a few trends underpinning this. What do you see as key trends for natural & organic in the coming year?
